Pohick Bay Campground and Park Office

This has been such a great find of a campground. Off the beaten path but course enough to visit DC. We would definitely come back. The hosts and office staff were fun taking too as well. Lots of shady sites. My only complaint would be that if you are using a tent or needing to stake something down the terrain is pretty tough.

we had a group of 11 friends on 3 campsites that were side by side. amenities were great. bathrooms super very clean. all the employees we interacted were super friendly and helpful. Then Sunday morning came around. now let me preface this with our group. we are all professionals between 50 and 70. 2 of the eleven are gulf war veterans the rest of us are responsible folks who don't harbor any ill will and respect every campground we visit. Sunday morning we were all gathered in the center campsite of the 3 campsites making breakfast and eating breakfast TOGETHER. this young woman early twenties wearing glasses pulled up in a park pick-up and immediately demanded that we move a pick up truck that had one wheel one foot in the road. then shed demanded that we break apart as as she says "you can't have more than 7 people per camp site" and that we had "10 minutes to move". our group was shocked at this young girl dressing us down in that fashion. we had grouped together once on Friday, twice on Saturday and once on Sunday with no issues with camp site. we were not loud or obnoxious. I would normally give this campground five stars but because of the tone and demeanor of this "child", this time i give it one star with the intent of someone in charge looking at the negative rating and acts accordingly. i would like to know if this is really what the intent of the 7 per camp site rule. sorry for the rant it's my first review i have written.

No plumbimg hook up on any site, no water supply on most sites and electric on most. Not one mention of this when made reservations a month in advance. Has to stay 3 night because of holiday to move to a site that has water, sewer and power. I don't blame the reservation operator she only does the reservation BUT whom ever does reservation on anything they should know "sometimes " about what they are reserving. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER

When we camp in the DC area, we reserve a spot at Pohick Bay campground or Bull Run campground. Very well kept and attended to by very friendly staff.
