Great question. I used to think so too up until you just asked this question and it caused me to go and research. The true meaning of taking the Lord's name in vain is when you use the Lord's name to commit evil acts. It's in a sense a blasphemous use of His name. In that regard saying Oh My God wouldn't be using His name in vain.
Wow saying Oh my God isn't considered taking the Lord's name in vain to many but using his name in vain is when we hear cursing/cussi!!! However God leads you that's what you do for you and if one is uncomfortable with that they can always back out of those arenas since life is about choices not complaining, right
