I'll take a guess, it might be because DE seems pretty small. But yeah, adding another Costco wouldn't hurt.
They follow the money, like all other companies. It's pure economics.
It's all about the right amount of demand for the area. Costco and other big box stores are dependant on high traffic areas with patrons supporting bulk purchases. Additionally, Costco, like other warehouse's, would love to be in more locations but is often met with community resistance due to perceived traffic problems and negative impacts to smaller local establishments.
Three BJs in New Castle County. One Costco. No Sam's. This small state may grow in size to one million people in 2022.
