Here in Texas a car battery will last 3-4 years. Very high and low temperatures can cause batteries to fail sooner, often giving out without notice. Frequency of starting, such as "auto-start" (where the vehicle shuts of when it comes to a stop and then starts when you take your foot off the brake) will also affect its longevity. Proper maintenance of the battery terminals, from corrosion, can also affect the life of the battery. Hope this helps! Jerry from The Auto Shop
It's all Relative the cold can destroy a battery and so can using a lot features in the car. Over time it drains the battery. On average a battery should last 5 years. It all depends on the vehicle use and environment.
