The sides are passive and active. There IS NO PLACE FOR AN AGGRESSIVE DOG IN THIS PARK !!!!! A dog that gets in fights , that bites, that ATTACKS other dogs has no place in a dog park..........Unless you have a muzzle on it. I have seen aggressive dogs with muzzles on and they are fine. Believe me, YOU will be quickly, Loudly and aggressively be CONFRONTED by the owner of the dog your dog is attacking and told to remove your dog immediately. If your dog is aggressive and attacks other dogs it will become IMMEDIATELY OBVIOUS There is a HUGE difference between ruff and tumble play and a dog that is Aggressive and Attacking other dogs. You will be responsible financially for hospital and veterinarian bills. You dog must be licensed, have all it's shots and must have up to date rabies shot info. We are all adults here, you are responsible for your dog. I say this after over 10 years of going to this beautiful and truly exceptional park. I would argue this is the most unique, best park.
There is a dog there named Major (german shepherd) who is resource protective. Bit my dog today, enough to break skin. Attacked her one other time. Please be aware there is a woman there who will not be remorseful for her dogs actions. She admitted to me before that her dog has done this in the past. I told her she shouldn't be there. I called the cops, Scottsdale park and rec, and animal control. Be aware and keep your dog away from him if possible!
There are several comments here about an active and passive area. Please understand that active and passive do not Define the size of the dog but there demeanor and how they get along with other dogs. You could have a very big dog who is passive or small dog like a chihuahua who isYou could have a very big dog who is passive or small dog like a chihuahua who is very aggressive so so just please understand that when you do decide what side to take your dog on
My dog loves the dog park there. We go at least 2 times a week. The rest of the park is very nice and dog friendly too.
There is a dog park and a human park. :) Outside of the dog park, dogs will need to be leashed: inside, they can run free. There is an active and a passive side to the dog park, although my experience has been that they are fairly mixed, insofar as puppy personalities go.
My dog is a lap dog 25 lbs. passive but active. We tried the active pen, but it just wasnt for him. The dogs were much larger and played a harder game. He is very happy in the passive pen. Try both for sure. then, pick the one that suits your dog.
