We recommend having a physician do an evaluation. It appears that John Ruffner has gone to a doctor in the past who did not have much experience at otoscopy. This account sounds like it probably would not involve a licensed physician in the state of California.
See someone regarding the wax. Its painful and hearing loss. I would definitely see a Dr. Regarding this situation.
Not a doctor, but I suffered my whole life until I learned it was untreated ear infections. Go to the doctor and make them irrigate your ear canal. They're going to tell you there's nothing in there and you just be persistent and make them irrigate it make them irrigate it. Eventually a big black mass of hardened ear wax will come out. The doctor will say something like oh wow. From that point on you have to use something like a pen cap to keep your ear canal clean. Don't use Q-tips or Solutions because all they do is smear it around and create the hard blockages. I think what was happening to me was I would get an ear infection which caused it to swell and made the wax block and then my ear would clear up but the wax block would still be in there. Now I use a pen cap every couple days and make sure that it stays clean and I haven't had this problem in 10 years
