I get your frustration, and I kinda agree that it's odd, but the short answer is that there is no shipping fees on new items. Without shipping fees, you'd save $10 by going used, but with shipping it costs more. The longer answer is that buying used from a large retailer like Guitar Center makes things more expensive because they havr to figure in paying the in-store sales associates + commission as opposed to a site like Reverb that doesnt usually have those overhead costs. In my opinion, the only reason to buy used from a retail store is that you can see the merchandise before you commit and if ypu return it, you dont have to worry about paying for or dealing with return shipping. Return shipping wouldn't be a big deal on something like an FX pedal, but when youre talking about a 7-10lb extremely fragile guitar, it can get expensive and painstaking. The main thing that keeps me going back to Guitar Center is their Pro Coverage, Return Policy, and awesome associates (in Visalia.)
Don't know for sure.
