I'm so sorry about this! How far behind are you? The truth is that falling behind on your rent - anything short of your full rent - entitles your landlord to file an eviction against you if you don't tender the full rent within five days. You are legally allowed to withhold PART of your rent for unaddressed disrepairs, but unfortunately, that is nullified if you are in breach of your lease for nonpayment of rent. Please call us if you need help.
