Hello, My Son Left for Boot Camp last thursday (Jan 10), and it's almost been a week that he's been gone, when can we expect a letter from him? Also, when will I be receiving the box with all his personal belongings that he went in with?

The first "communication" we had with our son last Aug., was when we received his box of personal stuff shortly after the first week. A day or two later we received a formal letter in his handwriting. It contained his address and other info. A week later was his first phone call. We were surprised at how long he was allowed to talk to us.

Hi there. Matt is pretty spot-on with the timetable. When in boot camp they are trying to mold him into the sailor he has to be. This has to have his undivided attention 24/7. You will be pleasantly surprised at graduation what kind of man he has become. I am a wife of a retired salior and I believe it is one of the best things your son has done.
