What is the best time to get there to be sure you can get a king cake?

I got there about 6:30am and was 30th in line, they open 8:am, I was home by 9am

I went last Monday... about noon. The wait was 20-30 minutes.

My neighbor drives in from Venetian Isles every morning. He says the line is very deep almost to highway at that hour. Best to go well after lunch around 2 PM

When i was there last week there was already a line at 8. Those waiting were there before 7.
