I think it depends on the day and your luck really... I think you have to ask yourself.. do you feel lucky punk... Unless you pay for parking...
Parking is hard to find, take train
It's $26 to park in the small lot by the Conservatory and metered street parking could be about $4/hour. There is free parking on Cannon, but you'll have to walk a bit. It's a busy and popular neighborhood, so parking is always tight.
There are street parking right alongside the streets close to the park, but it seems pretty full during days, especially weekends and holidays ( that's when we visited). We took public transit to the park from our hotel in downtown Chicago.
