I would suggest making a reservation if you absolutely want to go. If you have other fallback plans then you could try walking in. On a holiday weekend with many people in town and off of school, it may be advantageous to book now.
We went on a Saturday afternoon and made reservations and was told that we did the best thing by doing that. Like the other says you don't need reservations is not a first-come-first-serve reservations to take presidents.
