This place isn't utilized by the public enough, which is really sad because it's an awesome place to visit. The grounds are beautiful, the place offers you much needed tranquility during these stressful times. They have over night accommodations for when you seriously need to reconnect with God, with nature and with yourself. It was a blessing for me when I came across it on the internet when my mother passed away. The church is beautiful here. Check them out online for events throughout the year. Prices are reasonable.

We have Masses Tuesday-Sunday at 9:30 a.m. that are open to the public. We do not have an adoration chapel, but our Queen of Angels Chapel in our Motherhouse is open from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. for private prayer. We also have a small white chapel (Heritage Chapel) on the east side of campus that is available for private prayer to those who walk our grounds.
Our Sister who was ministering there has retired and moved back to Illinois, so we are no longer accepting donations for the Appalachian homeless. However, you can still contact Christian Help of Mingo County https://www.christianhelpmingo.org/ or their partner agency, ABLE Families https://ablefamilies.org/ to help them. If you would like to help other ministries of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart, please visit our website, https://fssh.net/. God bless you for your interest!
When a person becomes a full member of Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart, the congregation provides for her needs, but she will be responsible for securing/shopping for what is needed. If you have more questions, please reach out to us through our website at https://fssh.net/select-path/become-a-sister/. God bless you!
