Bruno and his Dad, Walter bought the Northwestern Hotel in 1949. It burned down in 1959. Bruno built the new building with his buddy Curly Hinzpeter in 1960 and Opened Bruno's Pink Isle Tavern , Laundromat and Dive Shop. Bruno and Pat his wife ran those entities until 1972 when they downsized the tavern and opened a small package goods (liquor store) Bruno's Liquors. It expanded to the entire building in 1976. It has been in the family ever since. Thanks to all the wonderful customers we have had over the years!! Jim Sharkus

It was a bar & liquor store in the 70's . The same family still owns and operates. So if you were to go in and ask the history you would get the story ( most likely from a family member).
Quite a long time I'm 35 and I've been going there since I was 21 and it was there long before that.
