The process has been accelerated and is pretty smooth actually compared to your typical car buying experience and yes the offer could be lower than expected but that's because they buy it to resell, we often give the advice to customer that they could get more if they sell on their own, but most of the people just want the convenience of getting rid of the car right there. Yes they do, you can also try to sell to Carvana. In my particular case it worked great and was very convenient.
Tesla will accept trades , however in my experience the process is anything but smooth and offer for your trade will be significantly lower than black book or edmunds.
