For a basement I would take and put some basic ceramic tiles down there they have like 12 x 12 or 14 by 14 that you can get sometimes for a dollar a square foot that would be your best bet the basement ever floods all you got to do is sweep the water out of vacuum it up

Depends on what you want ceramic or vinyl but they have a good selection of both
They have multiple deals on floor tiles I've got mines there for my kitchen paid a $100 altogether
