You can call ahead and put your name in the waiting list of you think it will be busy but it won't guarantee you a seat as soon as you walk in.
Not for dining except maybe st Patrick's day or holiday weekend Saturday nights.
I have been seated with no reservations, so I don't think you need them, but as with all plans, if you are depending on the meal at a specific place, I would make them.
Not usually - it can get busy at the usual times but I've still been seated without problem.
I would highly recommend a reservation if you intend on staying at the inn on a weekend. There are only a few rooms and weekend rooms sell out weeks in advance.
Depends in the time, though I've never had a problem getting a table walking in.
