Was bidding on an item.. put in my max bid which did not hit the reserve. So I decided to purchase a different item. Next day I get a notification they dropped the reserve and I won. Seems a bit shilly. Told them I wasn't buying it as that's poor practice to drive up bids.. they disagreed and gave me a non payer on auction site. Well... here's your strike for reputation.. I definitely don't recommend bidding as they use false reserves to drive up bids.

A Robsjohn Gibbons Mahogany dining table for Widdicomb in 1947. Bought it in 2003 (newly refinished) from Paul Donzella in NYC. Excellent condition - has been used infrequently in my second home (NYC).

No. Although it was probably refinished very well, refinishing wood furniture diminishes the value and makes it less desirable.
I have a set if fine china: Richard Ginori Palermo Cobalt. 12 place settings: dinner, bread and butter, cup and saucer and salad.

Rago does not purchase items, it is an auction. The place settings could be sold through them.

Mondays they offer free appraisals, at least they used to. I am pretty sure if you are paying for an official appraisal they will do that other days.

I would assume email, but I have not asked them that question. You could call them. I do occasional electrical work for them.
