I called the Marriage department this week and they said you CANNOT get a copy of the Marriage Certificate, but you can get a copy of the Marriage Abstract. I don't know if this is just Franklin County, because the Social Security Administration told me they must have a copy of the Marriage Certificate and the Marriage Abstract is NOT acceptable. So, what am I supposed to do now??? I mean Social Security would not demand it if a copy cannot be obtained, would they? PLEASE HELP!!
How to get married certified
if you need a legal document showing that you've been married from the state of Ohio you need a marriage abstract that is certified by the court. depending upon what county you were married in there are different avenues to get it contact the probate Court
