The Zephyrs moved to New Orleans years ago. The name worked and was kept because it reminded older locals of the Zephyr roller coaster at Pontchartrain Beach, the old amusement park. New owners from the North East didn't realize this and hired a California marketing team to come up with a new name. Baby Cakes has 0 to do with New Orleans or Louisiana. It's what people who move to the area and tourists call King Cakes because they can't remember the real name. No one born and raised in the area could believe they actually went with Baby Cakes.
The name Baby Cakes has nothing to do with New Orleans. It is a stupid name and should go.
They changed the name because they probably couldn't stay with the name or it might have been taken by someone or something else or either they felt like the name didn't match
