It is a Kill Shelter. There is no guarantee that a stray you drop off will not be euthanized.

CCSPCA is NOT a no kill shelter!! You may be thinking of Fresno Humane Services. They’re close to being a no kill.

It should of been a no kill shelter then! I brought in a stray hoping that if no one Claims it, I can readopt him out but he was killed. Something about he was too sick but I don't believe that. He could of been save!

There are cases in which humane euthanasia is a relief to some of the injuries the animals have sustained.. it is not always so cut and dry.. in an ideal world it would no longer be an issue.. we as a world have not achieved that ideal.. we moved here from other counties in California & have seen the most strays ever wandering on city streets, freeways, getting run over or having near misses..

How much do that charge if its ur pet

Victoria Smith | Oct 9, 2019

No, they only serve the city of Fresno, NOT Fresno county. They will refuse to accept the animal, even if you found it within the city they base it off your address, then Fresno Humane where you have to take them if you're county harasses people for bringing in strays as if you're doing something bad

This is a HIGH KILL shelter!

If you are dropping off an animal that should be your last resort.

I live in Fresno County city of Clovis - can I take in strays that I catch and kittens ?

Janet Hill | Oct 9, 2018

Which would be better. To humanely euthanize a dog or cat, or have it slowly starve to death or be hit by a car and die on the side of the road in agony?

Rikki Meeker | Oct 9, 2018

If it's your animal I believe it's a 60$ so they can cover costs. But I'm not 100%

Noneya | Oct 9, 2018

It's not a no kill shelter infact there isn't such a thing.

gabriel alvarado | Oct 9, 2017

Farm Life | Oct 9, 2017

Chloe Clarke (ChloeRito) | Oct 9, 2019

You can drop strays off. I dropped two kittens off this morning BUTT after I signed the forms of saying they are no longer in my possession that’s they would get euthanized if they couldn’t find a foster. Then wanted a $25 fee for each kitten.

Yvonnemarie Corrales-costales | Oct 9, 2017

Yes...i just did that a month ago

lucia castellanos | Jun 10, 2022

Fifth stray that I take in, no fees whatsoever just had to sign a waiver.

I was 17 years of age some decade or so ago, I called the SPCA for a problem with stray cats, there were to many to count on our from porch. When the SPCA arrived they drove off in their vehicle said they could do nothing about it. My neighbor at that time walked back into his house removed a shot gun and killed every stray cat in his view. I call it the cat day massacre. It seems to me that putting them under sedation and into deep sleep would have been better. Wouldn't you agree?? I am forever scarred and I shall not ever forget.

Brandi Sherman | Oct 8, 2021

This is a high kill shelter!! 85% of cats are euthanized!! Go look it’s on their website

Anabella Peña Monzon | Oct 8, 2021

They do not have a contract with City of fresno. They just want you fo their work for them and catch the animals. In Seattle they killed my dog by time i got money to get it out like 60 dlls and this was Long time ago. If you did not charge so much to adopt the animals would not have to die

Sarah Knight | Oct 9, 2018
