The tour is not wheel chair accessible. guests with a variety of limitations have enjoyed the tour but it is not possible to provide wheel chair access with the steps required to enter the cave.
Dana, We wish there were. However cave's by their nature go down and in the case of Indiana Caverns that is 110 feet. We descend in stages at various points along the way; but there are over 100 steps that visitors must descend and ascend to reach the underground river level where the boat ride takes place. God just didn't make it possible to make it handicapped accessible. There is a cave in Missouri that is totally ride thru named Fantastic Caverns near Springfield that is great for handicapped persons and Mammoth Cave in Kentucky has an elevator that allows one tour route to be taken in a wheelchair. Fantastic Caverns is open every day, but Mammoth's handicapped tours need to be scheduled in advance of your visit.
No, not handicap friendly. Several stairs, narrow walkway (in parts) and low ceilings.
On the cave tour u have to go down multiple stairs so no Its not handicap accessible and the boat ride is at the end of the tour .
There is a boat ride during the tour we did but a little bit of a hike to the boat. Along with a lot of stairs.
