Anyone can try for a bed. Religion is not a requirement or even a question. We want everyone to be served and safe. Beds are first come first serve. Most people who really want a bed get there by 6:30 PM or before and get in line at the door. The doors open at 7. There is chapel at 7:30 TIL 8. No one is admitted after 7:30. After chapel all unclaimed beds are given to new people until beds are gone. Beds can be kept up to 30 days. Again first come first serve. Everyone present gets breakfast and dinner the next day regardless of whether they get a bed or not. Also, if the temperature drops below 40, those who dont get beds can opt to sleep on a mat in the main area to stay out of the weather. If you need a place tonight, call the city of Columbia police and ask for a ride to the winter shelter (if it's open) which is a good option to get out of the weather for a night. Good luck and God bless you. Hope we can help you tomorrow. The winter shelter may be your best option tonight.
