My remote key will not lock the door but it will unlock it?

If the car beeps and refuses to lock, it may be that it senses another key inside rhe car. My wife and I discovered this when she left her purse with her key inside the car and I tried to lock it. This is actually a good safery feature to prevent locking yourself out of the car. Are you leaving another fob in the car on those occasiins when you can't lock it?

Try new battery. If that doesn't help, then you may have a damage contact in remote. For a small fee dealer may repair the remote , perhaps clean the contact.

Does it need a new battery?
