Was deferred today for a hematocrit level of 55....they say it has to be at least 54....but twice in the past two weeks I was allowed to donate with a level of 56 and a level of 59...can someone explain the logic behind that??

I've been over my levels with them....all im suggesting is that maybe there's a glitch in the system that needs checking out

I agree with Jeanette. I have had something similar happen at other centers. As a client. I would ask what you can do make sure your level isn't so high and talk to your doctor about it too.

I work at the one in commerce city. Had your hematocrit been over 54 our system would not have let you continue. It's set up so that it prevents those who don't meet the medical screening requirements to continue. This is for your safety. We are regulated by the FDA and have certain restrictions in place for the health and safety of our donors and our plasma recipients. If you'd like you can always go thru your medical screening history with a receptionist and they can go over the reason why you weren't able to go thru. Your hematocrit isn't the only thing we go by... pulse, temp, protein and weight also go into consideration.

Nope, this place doesn't work logically. Terrible waste of time, i suggest other means of getting extra income. Sorry that happened though Jason! They've done the same things to several people I know.
