I'm not sure if they take it or not, but if they did, it would be considered #2 insulated wire and it would be .32 per pound. However, there is another scrap yard not far from CMC called Mohawk that pays .70 per pound for #2 insulated wire. My best suggestion would be to call and ask. Questions asked here are not usually seen by the businesses, as this is run by Google and is not affiliated with the business in any way. I would just call Mohawk Scrap yard and see if they take it because they are currently paying more then double for insulated #2 copper wire. Mohawk is also paying $1 per pound for insulated #1 wire, whereas CMC is only paying .97 per pound. I go to these scrap yards almost every single day, so I practically know the prices for just about everything by heart at each place. I've just never turned in fiber optic wire, so I'm not sure if they take it. But I really don't see why they wouldn't. But for that particular type of material, I would recommend Mohawk Scrap Yard.
