I brought a backpack without an issue but I didn't check it. Just had to shove it in front of me, not much room there though.
I'd say don't bring it, when we were there a few weeks ago they were not allowed to be brought in for security reasons. Better check with the box office before you try.
They will probably let you bring your bag in but you cannot bring food or beverage from outside.
