I successfully got cheaper ticket as 79 USD for 1F center seat at TKTS booth in Times Square. Anyway, musical Chicago was an enjoyable show. Toilets waiting queues long during intermission.

Not a bad view in the house, but the chairs are packed in unbelievably tight. My knees hit the head of the person in front of me if they sit back in their chair. About 30 minutes into a show my knees start to ache. I was able to switch seats for an aisle seat and that was much better.

The hours are 10 am to 8 pm, but arrive 1 hour 30 mins before the show to get seated
If you buy at the ticket booth before the show the tickets are half price but very limited and the seats are probably not good
Yes and there are also rush tickets, if you go on the morning of the same day at 10a.m. you can buy them for much more smaller price
The best way I have found is checking their website directly or using third party tools to book a stay. I hope that helps

I sat far left and it was quite nice.
We brought our tickets at the ticket office under the steps on Time Square.

There are also apps available. I got reasonably priced tix three days before the show, using the today tix app. Good seats, and very convenient.
Seating starts around a half hour or so before the show. That line can get long. I'm guessing the ticket pickup line can get long too.
