I'm seeing a state truck road up to a building nearby the dam... Are you allowed to drive up to there and park for the day to hike up to Marcy mountain?

The closest you can park to Marcy Dam is at the Adirondack Loj

You can also park at the end of S Meadows Road which serves as an overflow site to ADK Loj. About the same hiking distance to Marcy Dam

You're not allowed to drive to Marcy Dam. The shortest trail up Marcy starts at ADK LOJ and is around 14 miles round trip.
