The Hocking valley railway is A unique opportunity to ride on a passenger train, Hocking valley scenic railway offers either air conditioned train cars,, or open air train cars. The volunteers give you information about the local areas. Volunteers are friendly and helpful. The train ride is about 2 hours long. It takes you to a old time town called Robin's Crossings. They have volunteers who are dressed in period clothing, and they show you how the towns people lived and worked. Overall it's a great family activity for a minimal amount of money. I was fortunate enough to actually meet the conductor of the train.

I see reviews that complain about this not being scenic enough. We went in early October, leaves were just starting to change. You do see some old buildings and an active lumber mill. Maybe not scenic to some, but still very intersting. Also made a stop at Robin's Crossing, a historic village. Well worth the trip!

There are different rides on different days.. 12 Noon is shorter ride and cost less.. afternoon ride is longer and cost more.. there's a "smoke break" for 30 minutes.. towards end of the ride which doesn't make any sense..!! Autumn will be the best season to ride in the open car and if you're with small kids.. you may want to ride inside air conditioned car..! It's recommend to wear mask for your safety and safety of others..!! No restroom inside cars.. so, you may want to prepare that..! Better to do it at the station before the ride..!! 😂
Need to contact Nelsonville depot for that. Sorry
They do not operate during the week for most of the year, but do have fall trains every Thursday and Friday in October. They can do vegetarian on the dinner trains but not vegan. They should message the railroad’s Facebook page after making reservations.
Call them. We paid 16 for adult.
I am not sure what that train ride is but the more popular ones I hear do fill up and it is better to reserve a spot for them I have been on the train several times but on a weekend and I don't think was anything special I have had my Daughters and grandsons on them the last time was the steam one it was nice way to spend the afternoon
Look up nelsonville train depo
Not handicapped accessible to my knowledge. Call the railroad before going and ask. You can buy tickets at the depot same day.
