Under very little circumstances will they give a gate pass so honesty you should call them because things are ridiculously sticky and I previously went through this where they had me in 3 different lines 3 different stories an wasted a hour trying to get a gate pass so call ahead with your particular circumstance and security isnt the problem its getting the gate pass
You can actually get a gate pass under some circumstances and accompany the traveler to the gate but you will get processed and checked by security just the same.
Not unless you hang out front..make sure to check in with your flight with your bags on time!!
