Go by the store. People are helpful and knowledgeable. Make sure you take your receipts even if they aren't Microcenter reciepts. Receipts give the people there ways to reassign the charge for a replacement battery if that is possible.

According to the Apple Corporation, If the IPhone has a Battery health above 80%, the phone battery will NOT be replaced. Otherwise if the battery health is lower than 80%, it will be replaced, in this case it sounds like they did not replace it because the Battery Health was used-like new. I hope this helps. Due to Covid-19 We also do not allow Returns on phones unless they are not used and remain unsealed. However, the return and exchange department is very helpful and may allow a return.
