They MAY call for clarification on something YOU filed, but it's rare. They will not demand payment personally over the phone though, especially via any kind of gift card.

No. Written correspondence only unless to follow up with a previously written notice. Ask for an employee ID number and their post of duty. This should annoy any non-employee and eliminate "their" calls.
