I'll second Ruth's post. 2 - 2 1/2 hours is recommended. If you have someone that's some help call the airport ahead of time. They can meet you with a wheelchair or whatever is needed to accommodate you.
The sooner the better. Try to be there at least 3 hours before departure time to ensure you navigate all the new rules...
Arrival time to the airport before a flight departs depends on the departing plane's boarding time, not scheduled departure time. This time difference could be around 40-45 minutes, before the departure time of the plane. Checking in for the flight, clearing TSA, traveling via the airports internal transportation, and finally walking to the gate for the flight, I would recommend a minimum of 2 1/2 hours arrival time at the airport before flight departs. If you can check in thru the airlines cell phone application, it can save you time and speed you thru the check in process. By doing this, it helps the airline and you the traveler.
