My greatgrandfather Peter McIntyre fought with the Union, in an Indiana regiment. He was wounded in the head and we think that he was the first to have a steel plate placed is skull. Is that possible? Thanks

The museum demonstrated a lot of surgical advancements during the war, but I'm sorry I don't remember that I read about such procedures. I'm sure the museum would be happy to answer such a question.
