Lee Rosenzweig
One of the lesser known and rarely mentioned battles of the Civil War but an important and vital battle. It marked the 3rd and final time Confederate forces invaded the north with the intention of capturing Washington DC. Friendly, knowledgeable and courteous staff. The self-guided driving tour was great and the sites they covered give the visitor an excellent view of what occurred here. The museum located in the visitor's center is worth seeing. I highly recommend this for Civil War and history lover alike...

Neat area to explore that had some key events pertaining to saving Washington DC in the Civil War. Lots of cool houses and sights to see and explore, and the visitor center has a lot of local information too. Great for anyone who's a history lover and wants to explore Frederick.

We freely accessed the trails, I don't think there is anything to stop you.
Any wildlife, in any park, should be avoided at all costs. Park service at Monacacy would be better suited for this question. I live 1000+ miles away.
The visitor center closes at 5pm daily. The park stays open after sunset though.
Yes, but I would not recommend going at night because the visitor center can answer a lot of these type of questions and can entertain you during your visit.
The visitor's center closes at 5, but the battlefield locations are open until dark.
