Talk to airline
If your flight is cancelled and you are at your trip origin, and decide not to go on your trip. Airlines will often allow you to cancel the remainder of the trip without a penalty. Depending on the airline, some may agree to a refund but most will simply hold the credit for 1 year. Be sure to get a receipt showing the credit balance. You will need that when you book your next flight with that airline.
