The lions were added by the vice president of Henry Flagler's rail road company(The Florida East Coast Railway) Henry Rodenbaugh. Rodenbaugh is also named "The Father Of The Lion Bridge" also the bridge of lions in its earlier days was nicknamed (The Most Beautiful Bridge In Dixie).
