I just bought a 2019 Santa fe 4 days ago and it smells like its burning oil really bad. Is this normal?

That is a great question! When Hyundai sends their vehicles in transport, they spray a coating underneath the vehicle and on the brakes. This coating is actually what is burning off. It will go away in a few days, as when you drive it and use the brakes, the coating gets removed. They put this coating to keep the metal from corroding. Thank you for the question. Thank you for your business! (edit for James Moran) I did a little digging for James Moran under this post, copy this link and on this forum, a bunch of New Hyundai Owners experienced this as well. It will go away my friend. https://www.hyundai-forums.com/sonata-yf-turbo/136681-burning-smell-after-driving-car.html EDIT: Thank you for updating this. Please note that I will have them contact you about this ASAP today.

Actually, this was not the case. After bringing my car back to have it checked out, I was told there was a tear in the boot and is leaking grease in to.the axel. Now I'm just waiting for a phone call for it to be replaced. Was told they would call no later than Tuesday... it is now Wednesday afternoon.
