Can't hurt to call and ask
Chances are if you are early or late evening you would not need a reservation (unless large party). Prime time Friday I would call ahead or plan too have a drink at the bar waiting for a few minutes.
They are moderately busy during lunch, but service is pretty quick. I would say it's likely not needed, but wouldn't hurt to call ahead if it's a large group.
