We are flying into Dallas Fort Worth and have a connecting flight with only 42 minutes to get to our connecting flight. Is that enough time? We are on American Airlines

You should have enough time if there are no delays at all. I was able to get the cabin people to let you disembark first so you don't lose your connection. Download the AA app to know for sure where your boarding gate will be. Good luck!

Once you know your connecting terminal you have to take a skyline train there

You should be ok. Check which gate your flight is at when you get to DFW. Flights change Gates constantly. Hop on the sky rail. I went all the way around the entire airport on the sky rail in 23 min.

Depends on which terminal the connecting flight leaves from. But, generally, 42 minutes should be OK. If your terminals are far apart, you'll have to get to SkyLink very quickly. It'll be tight, but doable.
