Hello Diana, we perform a State Safety Inspection that is required to register your vehicle in Smith County only. Smith County does not require emission testing. If you are registering your vehicle from out-of-state and now reside in Smith County, then the Safety Inspection will suffice to register your vehicle in Texas/Smith County. If the vehicle will be registered in another County other than Smith County and requires Emission testing (Harris, Travis, Dallas counties for example), then our recommendation would be to have a Safety and Emission test performed in the county that sets the regulations on your vehicle. If traveling to that county is not a current option, then we can preform a Smith County Safety inspection but you will need to have the vehicle inspected and certified in the county where your vehicle safety is regulated when you return to that county.
