A reservation is required. Information on the days and hours of opening and also on requirements for reservations is on the Oriental Institute website.
As far as I know you do not need a reservation for this museum, but you can call in advance to let them know you plan to visit. Also, make sure to get the OI app for your phone so you can take a closer look at the artefacts!
