In Texas, you can carry a loaded handgun in your vehicle, providing that you can legally own and posses a firearm. Handguns can not be in plain view in your vehicle. However, if you have CHL permit, handgun can be holstered and in plain view.

I am a commission security officer And will be taking a renewal class next month I have a shotgun indorsement on my commission card And I Have a new shotgun Is there any problem taking a few shots at the target with my new shotgun ? I am only asking to shoot about 5 rounds just to make sure it functions properly In addition to the practice shots I will be doing with my handgun Thank you in advance for your reply

Yes, directly to and from a shooting range. You must keep the ammo separated from the weapon, ammo in the car or cab of a truck and weapon in the trunk or tool box of a truck.
