Can't say much. As I've tried to be a part of the club numerous times. Staff not very helpful. Wants full price for only 4 - 6 months of range use. Sad that they won't work something out for a Vet that still deploys. I'll look elsewhere I'm tired of the run around. Updated based on owner reply: Should talk to Dan, he was my point of contact. I quote "We don’t charge or discount based on usage." from Dan in his email to me.

Questions & Answers

Is there a phone number or an email address for questions? FAQ does not answer all questions.

Because of the focus of our club and the fact that we are run by volunteers, we don't post a phone number or email address. If you have a question, please message us through Facebook or send an email to the contact info listed in the How to Join FAQ.

Do you need to be a member to shoot in the benchrest matches?

You do not need to be a member to participate in the benchrest matches, or any open match. You should contact the specific match director for any match that you are interested in attending: their contact info is in the calendar entry for that event.

Can anyone come out to shoot or do you have to be a member?

This is a private range, you must be a member to shoot. The process to join takes about a month start to end; it includes a detailed safety class, safety evaluation, and a background check.

What's your target range

We are a private club for members only or those participating in matches. If you are asking as a prospective member, we have ranges from a 17 yard bay to a 200 yard rifle range. Ranges all have specific designs/functions like pistol bays, silhouette ranges, bullseye pistol, etc.

Does this sound like a fair deal to you? I pay $200 (one time fee) up front, $150 for 12 months of range use when I'm only going to be in country 4 to 6 months at most? Every year?

It sounds like you would be best served by an hourly range.

(2) If one works outside the country 85% of the year and wants a place to shoot when he/she is home do you offer a discounted price?

Dohn Joe | Oct 4, 2020
Austin Rifle Club | Oct 4, 2020

We are a club and our expenses occur whether a particular member is using the facilities or not. We do not have discounts based on times you attend or are in town.

Here ya go, I'll ask so no one else has to. See if response is different than what I got via email. (1) Do you offer discounts for military, 1st responders, and Veterans?

Dohn Joe | Oct 4, 2020
Austin Rifle Club | Oct 4, 2020

I'm sorry, but we do not have discounts for military, first responders, or veterans. I would estimate that more than half of our members would fall in those categories and our rates are already very low. We are a non-profit club.

Can I rent a tactical bay or do you only have lanes/ports available?

Aaron | Oct 5, 2018

We are a private club with an unsupervised range. The membership process takes about a month start to end because it includes a training class and safety evaluation. We do not rent bays or provide day use opportunities.

1. WHAT ARE THE ALOWABLE AGES FOR YOUNG SHOOTERS? 2. YOUR TELEPHONE DOES NOT WORK, OR ELSE THENUMBER SHOWN ON THE COMPUTER ADVERTISMENT IS FOR A FAX NOT A PHONE. 3. WHAT ARE THE COSTS FOR USING THE SHOOTING RANGE?

Frank Stolz | Oct 5, 2018
Austin Rifle Club | Oct 4, 2020

1. We do not have a minimum age, but require direct supervision based on age of shooter. 2. The phone number displayed occasionally is linked by Google somehow and is not our number. We have repeatedly attempted to have it removed. 3. We are a private club, there is not an option for using the range on a rental basis. You must be a member to attend which involves a process of applying at an orientation class and safety evaluation as the range is unsupervised.
