No. Medical cannabis isn’t something I am able to prescribe at this time in the State of Utah but I can refer you to another provider in my office who is a prescriber. I’m very sorry to hear about your suffering. Cannabis can be helpful to many patients with complex health issues. It is not a substitute for a whole body, health promoting healing services that I provide and recommend, but can serve as a helpful adjunct that may be healthier compared to other available treatments.
Dr. I’m in a similar situation as your previous sufferer. However for 18 yrs in OR my PCP prescribed Marinol 5mg or dronabinol to allow me to have an appetite taken by the nauseating pain. Is anyone here 1. Educated on the proper and appropriate use of these very legit and helpful drugs? 2. Being it’s a prescribed item it doesn’t require you to have to complete the medical cannabis protocols for physician certification. 3. Will Utah state laws and governance ever be addressed by actual drs. Vs non qualified politicians that most likely carry with them the majority beliefs. It is truly saddening and maddening that politics and religion come before the needs and care of the patients. Chronic pain suffers shouldn’t have to be denigrated and sent off to pain clinics or opioid dispensary’s when that is in all other states the responsibility of the actual PCP in concert with the condition specialist.
