Hello, Richard. OneBlood is a not-for-profit organization and regulated by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Volunteer donors remain the only source of blood for patients in need. FDA regulations prohibit blood centers from paying donors for their lifesaving donations. However, it is common for us to recognize donors by offering special promotional items such as t-shirts, coupons, discount tickets or gift cards. The availability of these items may change or may not always be available to donors depending on the specific promotion or location.
You don't have to pay to give blood. One Blood often provides $20 reward cards when you make a donation. They only take a pint of blood on each donation. I hope this helps.
