If my wife in my household has a membership am i able to use her card? Hows that work?

Yes you can use her card

nope....not at all.....however, if u have to make a return, then the card holder has to be present (even with that, it depends on the associate u meet...some wants to go by policy, others really don't give u a "hard way to go"
