No, sorry but you have to have a valid permit to take the test. They will inspect your permit before allowing you to take the test.
The written test is good for 18 months. You need to renew your permit, but you should be eligible for an original learner permit while you finish testing requirements for the license.
So you need to renew the permit in order to be able to drive on it legally. BUT as far as I am aware the written test score is good for 1 year. So if it has been less than that you can schedule to driving test with them and just go get your license. That way you dont have to pay for a new permit AND THEN pay for your license. 👍oh but you do not have to go through the waiting period again since you've already done that.
