I went about a week ago. I didn't know that I needed an appointment. They let me in and my wait time was about 10 minutes. It wasn't so bad. But she wasn't happy that I didn't have an appointment. I'd make one if you can.
Ideally yes, I would strongly recommend making an appointment. There's a sign in there that says if you do walk-ins you're going to wait several hours.
